U.S. Big Four Sports Revenue

Interesting data set regarding the 4 major sports leagues in the USA:

Note that the EPL (English Premiere League) usually ranks below the NBA, but above the NHL at roughly $3.1B (for 2008/2009).

It is also worthy to note that the average NFL team value is at $1B.

    I’m actually really surprised the MLB made so much this year, I would have expected them to be 3rd, and not that close to the NFL.

      I thought the same, but keep in mind that the MLB has nearly twice the number of games played. That is twice the number of attendees/concessions sold/beer/etc…so it does make sense that they can generate a large amount of revenue.

      That being said, with only up to 19/20 games (including playoffs), just makes the NFL’s revenue all the more significant.
